Maja Milisavljevic is a multidisciplinary artist based in Stockholm, Sweden. Doing most of her work in costume for film, theatre, performance art, and fashion.

Maja is a designer, costume maker, and textile artist and has now worked within the costume industry for 10 years in TV & Film for Disney, Netflix, Amazon Prime, SVT, on productions such as Aladdin, Bridgerton, Cinderella, Ronja the Robber’s Daughter, and Trolltider. Alongside Film she worked on theatre shows like Solitare, The Flying Dutchman, and Turandot Opera.

Maja started her career with a technical background at The Swedish School of Textiles after which she pursued a more creative path doing her Bachelors Degree in Fashion Design, specialising in Textile Print at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts in London. During her first year at Central Saint Martins she worked on her first feature film, Disney’s Cinderella and fell in love with the creation of characters and story telling in film. Alongside her studies she spent a year in the fashion industry in Paris, working at Maison Margiela under John Galliano, working personally with the designer on both the artisanal and ready-to-wear collections. Gaining even more industry experience from Viktor&Rolf, as well as making costumes for the likes of Elton John and Beyonce.

As a designer, her own work often centres upon sculptural silhouettes, bright colours, unexpected textures. Maja explores the angles of art and costume, reimagining traditional costume design with dynamic expressions of creativity and seeks to blur the lines between art and design.
